A delayed project is getting back on track in Allentown.

ALLENTOWN, Pa. -

A delayed project is getting back on track in Allentown.

A groundbreaking ceremony was held Wednesday morning at the future site of the East Side Fire Station in the 700 block of North Irving Street.

The old station was closed in 2011 due to water damage and mold issues.

The new station was supposed to be finished in 2012, but officials had to make some design changes to keep the project under budget.

The East Side Fire Station is expected to be up and running by the end of the year.
