People in Monroe County came together Tuesday night to grieve, pray and heal after Monday night's shooting.
A vigil was held for the victims of the shooting in Ross Township that some said will change the county forever.
Through the service, people said they wanted to show the tragedy will not break their community; it will only make them stronger.
Through the tears, through the pain, the community came together to remember the three people who died in the shooting rampage inside the Ross Township municipal building.
"Senseless, it's a very senseless tragedy, and you just can't put it into words," said Pa. Rep. Mario Scavello.
The service at the Reaching Out for Jesus Christian Center in Broadheadsville, Monroe Co., reached out.
"I was thinking about the families that are going to be impacted by it. And then to know that it unravels a community at times, but I hope this will bring us together," said Kenneth Pearman, of the Reaching Out for Jesus Christian Center.
Many said they were shocked when they heard the news that Rockne Newell allegedly went into the municipal building and started shooting.
Three people lost their lives: David Fleetwood, Gerard Kozic, and James LaGuardia.
In the crowd were members of the Chestnuthill Township staff, where Fleetwood was a township supervisor.
"If you didn't like Dave Fleetwood, there was something wrong with you. The man gave his heart and soul, and anything that he ever did was for others," one person said.
"Lord we ask you to comfort the families. Lord, look in on each one. You know exactly what they are dealing with."
The prayer is one everyone in attendance hope is answered as people heal during this tough time.
"I'm sorry that it came to this. I really am. I wish somebody could have reached him to let him know you don't have to go this far," one person said.
Members of the church said they will be doing other outreach to the community, like providing meals just to let the families know they are supporting them during this time.
