The long-closed Terrace Restaurant along Route 145 in Walnutport is being reborn as a church.

On Wednesday, the congregation of Whitehall Bible Fellowship Church  in Whitehall Township completed the purchase of the former restaurant to start a second church location in Northampton County.

The name of the church will be Northern Lehigh Bible Fellowship Church.

The grand opening is scheduled for Oct. 6 with a  10:30 a.m. service, preceded by 30 minutes of fellowship.

Primary pastor at the new church will be Aaron Smith of Whitehall.

Members of its congregation will include people who previously attended Calvary Bible Fellowship on Main Street in Walnutport.
