Reading heads into all-star break struggling and in last place.

READING, Pa. -

The Eastern League all-star break has arrived. For the Fightin Phils, the first 93 games of the season weren't exactly worth writing home home about.

Reading heads into the break at 38-55. That's good enough for last place in the Eastern Division and 23 games out of first place.

Fightin Phils manager Dusty Wathan says the time off comes at a perfect time for his guys.

He says the offense has been there for the most part. But the pitching, hasn't delivered. That's the one area where Wathan would like see some improvement down the second half stretch.

Reading dropped its first half finale in New Britain on Monday, 3-2.
