BETHLEHEM TWP., Pa. -

A 20-year-old Wexford man has been arrested on a felony charge of intending to deliver marijuana at a Northampton Community College apartment building, police said.

Scott Christopher Ruppert is facing several charges, including the felony charge of possession with intent to deliver and misdemeanor charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police provided the following account of the incident that led to Ruppert's arrest:

Police were called to the campus apartments early Tuesday morning after the odor of marijuana was detected coming from one of the apartments.

Police then secured the apartment and obtained a search warrant for the apartment and the vehicle of one of the occupants, Ruppert.

During the search, police said they found a large quantity of zip lock bags, two digital scales, several bongs and smoking pipes, and a number of prepackaged zip lock bags containing suspected marijuana.

Ruppert was being held at Northampton County Prison on $7,500 bail.
