READING, Pa. -

A Reading man has been arrested for allegedly causing an accident that killed a Berks County man one year ago Saturday.

Sergio Nunes was arraigned on charges of homicide by vehicle and related offenses and committed to the Berks County Jail on $1 million bail.

The crash happened on Centre Avenue at Cathedral Street, between FirstEnergy Stadium and the Warren Street Bypass, in Reading on March 15, 2013.

Emergency crews arrived on the scene to find the drivers of both vehicles involved -- Nunes and David Osenbach -- to be unresponsive.

Nunes, 34, of Reading, was rushed to Reading Hospital; Osenbach, 62, of Windsor Township, near Lenhartsville, died at the scene, police said.

Investigators soon learned that the crash was captured on video by a nearby gas station's surveillance camera.

A review of that video and a reconstruction of the accident revealed that Nunes was driving more than 76 mph in a 35 mph zone just prior to striking Osenbach's vehicle, which was traveling at 25 mph, according to court documents.

Nunes, police said, was driving his car in "a careless, reckless and grossly negligent manner, which caused the death of David H. Osenbach" and led to the criminal charges being filed.
