HAZLETON, Pa. -

The public is being asked to not call the busy Pennsylvania State Police Hazleton station to find out about weather and road conditions in Carbon and Luzerne counties.

"Roadways currently are open and passable, but they are snow covered and extreme caution is necessary," advised a police spokesman at the station.

"It is recommended that travel during the snowstorm only be attempted if absolutely necessary. Currently, the speed limit is reduced to 45 mph on all major roadways."

For public information about interstates, call 800-932-4600.
