Domestic violence suspect threw purse at man in front of officers, police say

NAZARETH, Pa. -

A woman suspected of domestic violence threw her purse at a man she was accused of assaulting while police were interviewing him, officials said.

Rebecca L. Storm was intoxicated when she tossed the handbag in front of investigators around 7:30 p.m. Sunday in her apartment in the unit block of Easton Road in Nazareth, officials said.

Storm had to be forced against a table, became she became violent when police tried to handcuff her, officials noted.

Storm's 13-year-old granddaughter told police her grandmother hit the victim on the back of the head while the couple were in a bedroom and on a couch, officials said.

Court paper do not explain the relationship between Storm and the man, or what caused her to attack him.

Storm, 59, was arraigned on charges of assault and harassment and committed to the Northampton County Prison on $10,000 bail, according to court documents.

A preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. Dec. 26.
