Doles salad mix recalled

If you eat bagged salad greens, you may want to check your package.
Giant/Martin's Foods has voluntarily removed Dole Italian Blend Salad Mix from its shelves due to possible contamination.
The following product is included in the recall:
* Dole Italian Blend Salad Mix, 10 oz., UPC 7143000819 with a use by date of March 12, 2014
The greens may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
No illnesses have been reported to Giant/Martin's, and Listeria is a common organism found in nature.
Consumption of food contaminated with Listeria can cause listeriosis, an uncommon but potentially fatal disease.
Healthy people rarely contract listeriosis. However, listeriosis can cause high fever, severe headache, neck stiffness and nausea.
Listeriosis can also cause miscarriages and stillbirths, as well as serious and sometimes fatal infections in those with weakened immune systems, such as infants, the elderly and persons with HIV infection or undergoing chemotherapy.
Customers who have purchased the product should discard any unused portions and bring their purchase receipt to Giant/Martin's for a full refund.
