Coroner: Pottsville man killed in fire had illegal drugs in his system

A Schuylkill County man who died in a house fire that claimed the lives of five of his family members had drugs in his system, authorities said Wednesday.

POTTSVILLE, Pa. -

A Schuylkill County man who died in a house fire that claimed the lives of five of his family members had drugs in his system, authorities said Wednesday.

A toxicology report on Eric Brown found amphetamine, methamphetamine and a substance found in marijuana, the Schuylkill County coroner said.

Fire ripped through the family's house in Pottsville on May 12. Brown died in the fire along with his four children and his sister-in-law. The children were between the ages of two and eight-years-old.

Brown's wife was at a neighbor's home when the fire started.
