Colin Witmeyer of Reading charged with raping girls

READING, Pa. -

A 39-year-old Reading man was arrested on rape charges at Reading Public Library Thursday.

Sheriff’s deputies arrested Colin Witmeyer without incident.

He is charged with raping two female children at his home between 2010 and 2012. 

The girls were ages 7 and 11.

Police report that Witmeyer admitted what he did when interviewed by county detectives.

Witmeyer is in Berks County Jail, unable to post bail, which was set at $1 million.

He is charged with rape of a child, statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a person less than 16 years old, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child less than 13 years old, indecent assault of a person under 13, indecent assault of a person under 16, indecent exposure, endangering the welfare of children, intimidation of witnesses or victims and corruption of minors.

He resides in the 700 block of Lance Place in Reading.
