Clydesdales to parade in Allentown, Easton

ALLENTOWN, Pa. -

If you want to see the Clydesdales horses, they'll be on parade through Allentown Monday and will march through downtown Easton Friday.

The world-famous horses are a national icon, representing the Anheuser Busch company of beers. They've also starred in a number of television commercials.

But how often do you get the chance to see them up close?

The Clydesdales are in the Lehigh Valley for Tuesday's Triple A Championship Game at Coca-Cola Park in Allentown.

They arrived in the area last week and have made some beer deliveries to local distributors.

They're being stabled at the Bethlehem ice rink on Illick's Mill Road.

The horses will march through downtown Easton starting on Larry Holmes Drive around 1 p.m. Friday, then will deliver more Budweiser up on College Hill.

The team of horses is expected to arrive in Allentown Monday around 10 a.m., will parade by 11 a.m. and return to reload by 1 p.m.

The team will unload in a parking lot at Ninth and Walnut streets, travel up Walnut to 10th Street; 10th to Linden; Linden to 12th; 12th to Hamilton; Hamilton to Sixth; Sixth to Linden; Linden to Ninth ; and re-load at the Fountain Parking Lot.

The team will stop at selected customers along the route to make deliveries.

Each Clydesdale stands more than six feet tall and weighs approximately 2,000 pounds.
