Chase Utley to make rehab start with Fightin Phils in Reading

Phillies fans will get an up-close look at one of the team's star players Wednesday night.

READING, Pa. -

Philadelphia Phillies second baseman Chase Utley will make a rehab start with the Fightin Phils at FirstEnergy Stadium in Reading on Wednesday.

Utley was placed on the disabled list retroactive to May 21 after suffering a right oblique strain.

In 44 games with the Phillies this season, Utley hit .272/.339/.475 with seven home runs and 25 RBIs. It will be Utley’s first game in the rehab assignment.

Utley was last in Baseballtown in 2007 when he was on a rehab for a broken right hand.

First pitch Wednesday is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
