Bullets, Raiders gear up for PIAA softball quarterfinals
Brandywine Heights and Twin Valley will both play at Patriots Park on Thursday in their PIAA softball quarterfinal games.
Brandywine Heights will meet Pen Argyl at 1:00. The Bullets defeated the Green Knights 9-4 earlier this season.
But Brandywine is not taking that win for granted. They know that Pen Argyl is a much different team this time around and has been looking forward to getting another shot at the Bullets.
Brandywine Heights defeated Philadelphia Academy Charter School, 16-0, in the first round on Monday.
Twin Valley's opponent will be the defending AAA state champion, Valley View. The Raiders will meet the Cougars at 5:00.
Twin Valley's run to the state tournament has featured games against powerhouse programs. In the District III tournament, the Raiders knocked off Manheim Central, the two-time defending District champions.
The adversity is nothing new for Twin Valley, who looks to accomplish it's preseason goal of being one of the final two softball teams left in the state of Pennsylvania.
The Raiders defeated Prendergast-Bonner, 6-1, in the first round on Monday.
