Wilson and Schuylkill Valley picked up league wins on Wednesday night as both set their sights on the playoffs.

BERKS COUNTY -

The Wilson and Schuylkill Valley wrestling teams won league duals on Wednesday night. Both teams are expected to be major players at the county tournament next weekend.

In Spring Township, Wilson (5-0, 6-1) won five of the final six bouts to earn a 42-22 win over Twin Valley (3-2, 7-4) on Wednesday night in a Berks I dual.

The Raiders got two consecutive pins to start the match from Preston Hopkins and Jared Fetterman. Daniel Grant defeated Connor Moyer at 126 pounds to give the Raiders a one-point lead, but two straight forfeits following that really hurt the Raiders.

Parker Eidle and Tyler Wilkes tallied the pins for Wilson, who will host Exeter next Tuesday for, essentially, the division title. The Raiders will host Exeter that Wednesday.

In Leesport, Schuylkill Valley (4-1, 8-2) won seven of the first eight bouts to spur a 48-15 win over Brandywine Heights (2-3, 3-7) on Wednesday.

Elijah Zimmerman, Ryan Ramich and Nick Scheidt recorded the pins for the Panthers, who are on the verge of a few milestones. With a win over Newport Friday, Schuylkill Valley will have won 600th dual. They will have also competed in 1,000 matches.

Daniel Schmeck and Collin Conrad had the falls for the Bullets.

Brandywine won't be in action until next Wednesday against Oley Valley.
