EASTON, Pa. -

A man whose girlfriend called police when he locked her out of her home twice tried to make a break for it after officers arrived, officials said.

Jason Kathcart threw himself to the floor and tried to wriggle away after he was handcuffed in his girlfriend's home in the unit block of South 11th Street in Easton around 10 p.m. Friday, officials said.

When he was taken outside, Kathcart then tried to run between two parked cars and threw himself on the street several times, officials added.

Kathcart's girlfriend called police because he had locked her out of her home and her two juvenile daughters were inside, officials said.

Kathcart, 33, of 241 South Chamber St., Phillipsburg, Warren Co., N.J., was arraigned Saturday on charges of criminal trespass and resisting arrest and committed to the Northampton County Prison on $20,000 bail, according to court documents.

A preliminary hearing is set for Nov. 14.
