Tuesday night's storm did a number across Berks County.

ROBESON TWP., Pa. -

A 10-year-old boy is recovering after being struck in the head by a tree branch during Tuesday night's violent storm.

The boy was among a group of children spending the week at High Point Camp in Robeson Township, Berks County, when the skies opened up and the storm rolled through.

Camp leaders rushed the children to safety and ushered them into a chapel, known as the pavilion.

"I was in front of the pavilion trying to get the kids in and that's when I heard the tree crack," said Jordan Anderson, a counselor at the camp, which sits behind High Point Baptist Church on Chapel Road.

The 10-year-old did not make it inside in time and part of the tree hit him on the head.

"He was knocked down, had bruised shoulders and a pretty good laceration on the back of his head," said camp director Steve Cone, who added the boy received 18 stitches at Reading Hospital.
