Search crews in Carbon County have recovered a body from a lake.

TOWAMENSING TWP, Pa. -

The body pulled from the lake at Beltzville State Park about 4 p.m. Tuesday  has been identified as Dean Christman, who vanished from his boat on the lake more than a week ago.

Carbon County Coroner Bruce Nalesnic, who identified the remains, said the 57-year-old Christman lived near the state park in Towamensing Township.

Nalesnic said an autopsy performed at Lehigh Valley Hospital Wednesday determined that Christman drowned. His death was ruled an accident.

Christman disappeared around 6 a.m. July 22. Two fisherman saw his empty boat going in circles on the lake. Only a life jacket was found inside the boat.

The lake was closed for days while the searchers attempted to recover the body of the missing man.
