Bethlehem's Bach Choir offers family-oriented Christmas CD
The Bach Choir of Bethlehem has released a new Christmas CD--made with young listeners in mind.
On Tuesday, the nation's oldest Bach Choir released its newest CD: A Child’s Christmas in Bethlehem.
It's the choir's first Christmas CD focused on a family audience, incorporating music and spoken word from across the centuries.
Greg Funfgeld narrates the new CD, which includes carols spanning seven centuries and five languages, as well as poems and stories.
The experience takes the listener from Bethlehem in the Holy Land, where we are present at the birth of Jesus as seen through a child’s eyes, to diverse Christmas traditions of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania in the present day.
Carols on the recording include:
Of the Father’s Love Begotten
A La Nanita Nana
Ding Dong Merrily on High
Long Ago in Bethlehem
The Angel Gabriel
O Jesulein Seuss (Child Jesus, So Sweet)
Sleep Well Thou Child of God
Shepherd’s Song at Christmas
The CD may be purchased online at The Bach Choir's website, and at the Moravian Book Shop at 428 Main Street in Bethlehem.
The CD is available internationally through the Analekta label.
