Berks picks 2 judges

One of the big races in Berks County was the race for judge of the court of common pleas.

Three candidates were in the running for two open positions.

The front-runner all night and one of the winners was First District Attorney Theresa Johnson.

She was on both the democratic and republican ballot and won with more than 34,000 votes.

"It was a goal of mine to be on the bench. So I'm looking forward to hearing both sides of it, researching the law and applying the law to the facts," Johnson said.

The other winner in the Berks County judge race is Madelyn Fudeman.

She won with more than 25,000 votes -- 5,000 more than Eleni  Dimitriou Geishauser.

"I'm feeling so so happy for myself but even more so for all the people who have worked so hard over the past 11 months. I feel like this is a victory for all of us together because together we did," said Fudeman.

Judges are elected to 10-year terms.

Fudeman and Johnson will take their seats in January.
