Woman's death a homicide; decomposing body still unidentified

Authorities in Berks County are watching closely following the discovery of a woman's body in a northern area of neighboring Lancaster County.
The discovery was made just days after a woman from Robesonia, Berks Co., was reported missing.
The body was found Sunday evening in the Middle Creek Waterfowl Refuge on Laurel Drive in Clay Township.
An autopsy was conducted Monday, and the woman's death was ruled a homicide, said the Lancaster County coroner, who added that the woman suffered significant trauma.
Berks County District Attorney John Adams was called Sunday night. He is now awaiting word as detectives have been searching for Ashley Kline of Robesonia.
"This investigation has crossed county lines quite often," said Adams.
Kline, 23, has been missing since Dec. 30. Last week, the investigation took police to Adamstown. Sources told 69 News that Kline's purse was found in the area. Police searched a waste station on East Main Street for clues, but they came up empty.
"They had a state helicopter up and it was very scary in a small community where nothing really happens," said one woman, who did not want to be identified, but added she called police after her son found the belongings.
According to family members, Kline has the mental capability of a 15-year-old after she suffered from lead poisoning as a child.
The Lancaster County coroner said dental records are being used to help determine an ID because the body was outside for more than several days.
Now, detectives in both Berks and Lancaster Counties are waiting to hear just who was found in the woods.
"Our office will work with the Lancaster County DA's office and offer them any help if in fact Ms. Kline has been located," said Adams.
The coroner said an identification could come Monday night or Tuesday.
Kline's family members are still holding out hope she will be found alive.
