Emergency crews are on the scene of another accident involving a tractor trailer on Interstate 78 in northern Berks County.

BETHEL TWP., Pa. -

A pair of accidents involving tractor trailers slowed traffic on Interstate 78 in northern Berks County on Wednesday.

The latest crash, also involving a car, happened shortly before 4 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-78 at mile-marker 13.5, near the Bethel interchange, in Bethel Township.

Initial reports from the scene were that at least one person was trapped in the wreckage. A medical helicopter was requested to respond.

The scene was located about 2-1/2 miles west of an earlier accident in which a tractor trailer rolled onto its side.

Several minutes before the second accident, police had requested both eastbound lanes of 78 to be closed so that the truck involved in the first accident could be removed.
