Reading Mayor Vaughn Spencer will formally present his 2014 budget proposal to city council next week.
The mayor will deliver what is described to be a "brief" budget message in council chambers at 5 p.m. Monday.
The mayor's remarks will be followed by Matt Bembenick, the city's director of administrative services, presenting a budget message to city council's finance, budget and audit committee.
Spencer hasn't revealed any specifics about his budget. Last year, he called for a 20 percent increase in city property taxes.
The final budget approved by city council approved boosting property taxes 9.45 percent and commuter taxes 1.3 percent.
