Once considered an affliction of the lazy and indulgent, obesity now affects about one-third of Americans. Gallup and Healthways recently ranked which U.S. cities are the heaviest -- and which are the skinniest -- using Americans' Body Mass Index (BMI) scores. The indexes are calculated based on a person's self-reported height and weight radio, with scores of 30 or above considered obese.

The city of Reading is on a new, not-so-flattering list.

Reading  ranks ninth on a list of most obese cities in the nation compiled by The Huffington Post.

The report says more than 32 percent of Reading's population is considered obese.

The McAllen, Edinburg and Mission area of Texas came in at the top spot on the list.

Boulder, Colorado is listed as the least obese city.
