Shoppers browsing for fresh fruits and vegetables in downtown Reading on Friday will be offered a bit of advice to go along with their produce.
Jessica Norris, a registered dietician with Reading Hospital, will be at the Penn Street Market to talk with customers about good nutrition. Norris will focus on the importance of including fresh fruits and vegetables in daily diets.
"I was pleased when Reading Hospital reached out to me and volunteered to have a dietician come to the Penn Street Market to talk about good eating practices," said Sheila Miller, Berks County's agricultural coordinator. "Fresh fruits and vegetables, purchased from our farmer vendors, are key components to good nutrition."
The free service, from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m., is an initiative of the Community Health Project, coordinated by Reading Hospital's Stephanie Kuppersmith, in partnership with the Penn Street Market.
