Police: Stepfather stabs stepson

The fight was so intense that one family member was stabbed and rushed to the hospital.

READING, Pa. -

A fight between family members, as the new year dawned, ended with a man stabbing his stepson in the lower abdomen.

Police say the incident happened around 2 a.m. at a residence in the 1200 block of Cotton St. in Reading.

The injured man was taken to Reading Hospital with what police believe are non life-threatening injuries.

The accused, Thomas Drey, was arrested and charged with multiple crimes including aggravated assault, simple assault, harassment and possession of an instrument of crime with intent.

According to his court docket, Drey was unable to post $25,000 bail and is being held in county prison.

The identity of the victim was not released.
