Seniors at Berks Encore in Birdsbroro are decking the halls in Harrisburg.

Volunteers started Tuesday morning making ornaments that will hang on a Christmas tree in the Capitol rotunda.

The volunteers are also making ornaments for Berks County Meals on Wheels clients. They're using glue, glitter and old jar lids.

"We came up with this idea to use recycled jar lids because we had already used the jars to put potpourri in, stuff like that, and other crafts, and we had all these jar lids," said Patty Barker, Berks Encore.

The ornaments will hang on the tree in the rotunda from Nov. 26 through early January.
