Police officers are being honored for going above and beyond to keep the roads in Berks County safe.
Nine officers received certificates at an event in Exeter Township on Thursday.
The officers worked to crack down on aggressive drivers during a state-funded enforcement effort, officials said.
Eighteen police departments in Berks took part in the enforcement. The impact of the program is clear, officials said.
"Every year that we go out there and do the enforcement on those roadways, the crash statistics have gone down. So, it definitely works as a result of the extra enforcement, police presence on those roadways," said Edward Boothman, law enforcement liaison coordinator.
Another aggressive driving crackdown is planned from July 8 to Aug. 15, officials said.
