SPRING TWP., Pa. -

A bank formerly based in Boyertown is keeping its strong ties to Berks County.

Officials with National Penn Bank cut the ribbon Friday on the Reading Area Business Center on Broadcasting Road in Spring Township.

The 48,000-square-foot center has employees from different divisions of the bank under one roof.

"It's great to have all of our business partners finally under one roof," said Bruce Smith, National Penn's central region president. "We've been in the building for a little less than three months and we've already seen tremendous energies just by having everyone together."

National Penn announced plans for the center in 2012 when it said it was relocating its headquarters from Boyertown to Allentown.
