WYOMISSING, Pa. -

The U.S. Postal Service is asking for help to "Stamp Out Hunger."

All you have to do is leave non-perishable foods near your mailbox on Saturday and letter carriers will pick up the items.

In Berks County, the donations will go to the Greater Berks Food Bank to feed those in need in Berks, Schuylkill and western Montgomery counties.

"People think that during the holidays is when the need for food drives is needed, but they're also needed during the summer months. What happens is, the schools are out and the kids aren't getting their square meals everyday," said Paul Purcell, letter carrier.

The Greater Berks Food Bank distributes more than seven million pounds of food each year.
