READING, Pa. -

The renovations are complete, and a popular swimming pool in Reading is already getting a lot of use.

The Olivet's Boys and Girls Club was awarded a grant to fix up its Clinton Street pool for the 2013 season.

Improvements include new pumps, tile repairs and a refurbished sand filter.

"This provides the kids a safe place to come, someplace that's supervised. We have swimming lessons. Our goal is to have every kid that comes to our pool learn how to swim by the end of the year, and as you know, there's always a few kids that venture off to the river, and you can't prevent that, but hopefully they'll come here instead," said Jeffrey Palmer, CEO, Olivet Boys & Girls Club.

About 700 children use the Clinton Street Pool every summer.
