The first snowflakes of the season quickly dusted parts of the area with a thin accumulation.

MOUNT PENN, Pa. -

If you missed Berks County's first snowflakes of the season Tuesday morning, that's because they didn't stick around too long.

The heaviest snow in Mount Penn fell around 8 a.m., quickly dusting lawns, trees and rooftops.

Most roads remained just wet, although there was a chance for some slick spots in higher elevations and normally colder areas of the region.

The Berks County Communications Center reported no serious travel issues as a result of the snowfall.

The bigger story now is the wind-driven blast of cold air that's settling in. While we can expect to see the sun Tuesday afternoon, temperatures won't climb out of the 30s. In fact, the wind will make it feel more like it's in the 20s.
