A two-alarm fire tore through an apartment building in Reading on Sunday morning.
It broke out on the first floor at around 5 a.m. Sunday in the 1500 block of Perkiomen Avenue.
Flames were seen shooting through the roof.
Three families -- five people -- were affected by the fire, officials said.
A tenant in the building told 69 News that the owners bought the property about two months ago and were renovating it.
One person was taken to the hospital, but it was unrelated to the fire, officials said.
The fire is under investigation.
