Authorities on Thursday returned to a building in Reading that partially collapsed earlier this week.
Neighbors in the area of Buttonwood and Birch streets watched as crews put up a fence around the compromised building, part of which crumbled Tuesday afternoon. Demolition crews have begun bringing down more of the building.
The city continues to contemplate tearing down the entire building for safety reasons.
The collapse, officials said, may have been caused, in part, by rain on Tuesday.
