READING, Pa. -

Volunteers are making sure the holiday season is bright at the Hillside Playground in Reading.

Members of the local electrical workers union are donating their time and materials to upgrade the playground's annual display.

There's plenty to do. The display features more than 5,000 feet of wire and at least a half-million lights.

"In the spring of 2013, the city came to us and said we had to do some upgrading on the wiring, which we all agreed had to be done," said Steve Ahrens, volunteer. "It was a major expense for us, but luckily IBW743 could come in and help us out."

The lights will be on from Sun., Nov. 24th through New Year's Eve.
