Crash shuts down West Shore Bypass in both directions

An accident turned into a rush- hour headache Wednesday night in Exeter Township.

EXETER TWP., Pa. -

A stretch of the West Shore Bypass in Berks County has been reopened after an accident.

The crash, involving three vehicles, happened during Wednesday evening's rush hour in the eastbound lanes between the Neversink Road overpass and the Route 422 Business interchange in Exeter Township.

Both lanes are blocked by emergency vehicles on the scene.

No injuries were reported in the accident, according to emergency dispatchers.

A 69 News crew on the scene reported a significant backup of traffic in the eastbound lanes leaving Reading as crews work to remove the wreckage.
