President Obama's health care overhaul took center stage close to home Friday.

LOWER ALSACE TWP., Pa. -

President Obama's health care overhaul took center stage close to home Friday.

The Greater Reading Chamber of Commerce hosted a health care summit at the Stokesay Castle in Lower Alsace Township.

The group discussed the Affordable Care Act and the ways it will affect local business owners and their employees.

The keynote speaker said such forums are a great way for business owners to come together to share solutions, but he also said there are still a lot of unanswered questions.

"This is just the beginning," said Matt Pfeiffenberger. "The act will continue to unfold and the impact on businesses will continue to unfold and the entire environment is going to be changing. So, I think think companies will continue to stay on the cusp of this and try to stay ahead of the curve."

In just more than a week -- on October 1 -- the open enrollment period begins for people to sign up for health insurance under the Affordable Care Act.
