Car crashes into convenience store on Lancaster Avenue in Shillington

SHILLINGTON, Pa. -

People inside a convenience store in Berks County endured quite a scare when a car crashed right through the front window.

The accident was reported around 4:30 p.m. Friday at the E-Z Shoppe, a former Turkey Hill store at 44 East Lancaster Ave. in Shillington, adjacent to the Governor Mifflin school campus.

An 85-year-old woman was behind the wheel of the car when it went up onto the sidewalk in front of the store and barreled right through one of the front windows, police said.

No one was injured.

Pictures from the scene show a mess of spilled soda and other products inside the store.
