One man is behind bars and two others are being sought for their alleged roles in a violent armed robbery in Reading.
Brandon Workman and the other two men entered a barber and tattoo shop in the 400 block of North 5th Street around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, police said.
While an employee was waiting on customers upstairs, the trio proceeded to go downstairs and confront the shop's owner in the basement, police said.
Workman, who was due to work at the recently opened shop before he had a falling out with the owner, pulled out a metal bar and struck the victim in the head, according to court documents.
As the victim stood up to defend himself, police said Workman struck him in the head a second time and then again and again as the pair scuffled.
One of the other men then pulled out a gun and asked Workman whether he should shoot the shop owner while stating, "Gimme all your dough," according to court documents.
The victim then handed over approximately $150 in cash from his pocket before the three men fled the business, police said.
Workman, 38, was arraigned on several charges and committed to the Berks County Jail on $100,000 bail.
The other two men have not been identified by police. Anyone with information about the case can call Crime Alert Berks County at 877-373-9913. A cash reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.
The victim was treated for his injuries at Reading Hospital.
