A Hamburg Area High School football player has been cleared of any criminal wrongdoing in an incident caught on camera.
District Attorney John Adams said Monday that his office will not file criminal charges against the player, who was seen on video throwing a football at another person in the Hamburg gymnasium.
The video was purported to have been recorded several months ago, but it only surfaced after the same player, Joe Cominsky, pulled the football helmet off the head of an opposing player and struck him twice with it during a game against Annville-Cleona earlier this season.
Cominsky was suspended for two games because of that incident.
Police and the Lebanon County district attorney have not yet decided whether criminal charges will be filed in the case.
