Police are investigating the second robbery of a bank in Berks County this week.
The latest holdup happened shortly before 11 a.m. Wednesday at the M&T Bank branch in the Broadcasting Square shopping center in Spring Township.
The robber handed a note to a teller, demanding money, said police, who have been unable to determine the amount of cash that was taken.
The robber was last seen fleeing the scene in a vehicle that was described as a late-model, 4-door tan or light-colored GMC pickup truck.
The robber was described as a white man who stands approximately 6 feet tall with a slender build. He was wearing glasses, a light-colored baseball cap and a dark, longer-length jacket.
This is the second robbery of a bank in Berks County this week. The First Niagara Bank branch on Route 422 in Amity Township was robbed Monday.
The robber in that holdup was described as a clean-shaven white man who stands about six feet tall with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a dark blue or black hooded sweatshirt, gray windbreaker-type athletic pants, a dark baseball cap, sneakers, black-rimmed glasses, blue mittens and a gray scarf.
Police are also investigating a possible attempted robbery of the National Penn Bank at Oley Turnpike Road and Saint Lawrence Avenue in Exeter Township on Tuesday.
Anyone with information about either of the two bank robberies or the attempted holdup is asked to call Crime Alert Berks County at 877-373-9913. A cash reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.
