Another young singer from our area is making her way up the country music charts.
Stephanie Grace is a country singer who has big dreams.
"I would never say it's a challenge. I'd say it's more of an adventure," said Grace, 15 of Douglass Twp., Berks Co.
Grace, who has been performing since she was 9-years-old, said she got her big break when she first stepped foot on stage at a country music festival in Lancaster, singing in front of 40,000 people.
Another local country up-in comer, Grace said, was there, too.
"I got to kick off the show with one song, and Taylor Swift went on right after me, and when she was all done she said, 'Who was that little girl up there?'" said Grace.
The Boyertown Junior High School West student has been in love with country music since she was a toddler. At the age of 12, Grace decided she wanted to pursue a career in country music. Soon after, she was off to Nashville to work on her music with Nashville writers and SMG Records.
"I take what I do so seriously and it's a career, yet at the same time, I balance school, social life and I love it," said Grace.
Since January, Grace has been on the road singing and promoting her first single, "If You Ask Me," on country radio stations all over the country.
In June, Grace said she will be singing at the CMA Music Festival in Nashville. Grace was also featured in CMA's magazine as an artist to watch in 2012.
"I'm at that stage now where we're about to release things. We've been working really hard and now it's the time to let it all out there for everyone to hear," said Grace.
Her debut single's also ranked 69th on the Country Breakout Charts. In June, Grace's music will be available on iTunes.
