The Salvation Army is helping to keep kids warm this winter.
The organization began its annual Coats for Kids distribution in Reading on Monday. The campaign to collect coats started in October and ended last month.
"All of the coats are gently used. They're donated by the people of this community. They're cleaned and then they're delivered to us, and then we have people who come through who pick up the coats that they need," said Mindy McCormick, director of social services.
More than 100 families stopped by Monday. The coat distribution will run through Thursday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Salvation Army's site in the 1800 block of North 13th Street.
