Poetry took center stage at Reading High Wednesday night.
Our cameras were there as 20 students went head to head in the seventh annual Poetry Out Loud competition.
The students had to recite poems that they've memorized then they were evaluated by judges.
The competition is the first step in a national contest.
"They commit themselves to finding poems that they can recite well and believably and then they work very hard to embody the verse," said retired English teacher Janet King.
The winner -- Aaron Preston -- will go on to represent Reading High at the regional competition at Millersville University.
