School districts across the country have been stepping up security in the wake of last week's mass shooting at a school in Connecticut.
Now you can add the Reading School District to that list. The district says its taking extra precautions to ensure the safety of students and staff.
Extra security was on hand in Reading Thursday afternoon. A note on the district's website said schools are limiting access to buildings and doing hall sweeps and searches.
The district says the enhanced security is in response to some rumors, and it's taking any information seriously.
