Police said they have shut down a prostitution ring and taken its alleged "madam" into custody.
The ring, "All About You Escorts," operated out of a home in the 2500 block of Girard Avenue in Spring Twp., Berks Co., police said.
The woman who lived in the home, Desiree Key, was arrested Thursday during an undercover police sting inside a hotel in Wyomissing, while her mother and a child sat in a car outside, according to court documents.
Key's arrest followed a discussion with the undercover detective about a massage, as well as both sex and oral sex, and an upfront cash payment of $260, according to court documents.
Key denied to the arresting detectives that she operated a prostitution business, saying the women who work for her provide massages to their customers.
The detectives, however, said they found several items both in Key's purse and inside her home that are indicative of prostitution.
The All About You Escort website advertises "discreet and reliable ladies" and the "best body rubs around." It states that the business services Berks, Lancaster, Manheim and Lebanon areas.
During another undercover operation at a hotel in Wyomissing on Aug. 31, a detective arranged a meeting with a woman through "All About You Escorts" and was quoted $160 for an hour-long massage and $150 for "full service," according to court documents. The operation ended without any arrests.
Key, 32, was arraigned on a felony charge of promoting prostitution and prostitution, a 3rd degree misdemeanor. A judge set her bail at $25,000.
Detectives said more arrests are possible.
