READING, Pa. -

Police say a 17-year-old mother is in hot water after her 4-month-old baby was injured in a bizarre incident at Reading High School.

It happened at around 12:50 Tuesday afternoon.

Officials say the girl got angry inside the guidance counselor's office and began tossing her baby like "a rag doll."

They say the mother left the office and kicked over a trash can outside.

She then accidentally let go of the baby's carriage which went down a ramp and the child was thrown from the carriage after it slammed into a rail, police said.

The baby was taken to the hospital and is expected to recover.

The mother was taken to a juvenile detention center and is facing numerous charges.
