Police: All 3 suspects in police custody in Muhlenberg Township shooting

READING, Pa. -

A third man is in custody for the July 9 shooting of Amber Putt police said Saturday.

Xavier J. Pagan, 22, Daniel French, 18, and Giovanni Nieves, 18, are all in prison for their involvement in the shooting of Amber Putt.

Putt was found along a ramp from Route 61 to Route 222 in Muhlenberg Township. She was shot multiple times near where her body was found.

Putt identified Pagan as the one who shot her. He was arrested Wednesday and is charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault, and other related charges. He remains in Berks County Prison on $500,000 bail.

French, who was in a romantic relationship with Putt, was arrested Thursday and is charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, and illegally possessing a weapon. He remains in Essex County Prison awaiting an extradition hearing.

Nieves was arrested July 14 and is charged with attempted homicide. He is being held in Berks County Prison on $1 million bail.

Putt has been in Reading Hospital since the shooting police said, but hospital officials will not release her condition.
