A busy road in east Reading remained closed through the morning rush hour Monday as crews worked to repair damage caused by an accident late Sunday night.
A pickup truck slammed into a utility pole in the 1800 block of Mineral Spring Road around 10:30 p.m., officials said.
Firefighters arrived on the scene to find one person injured and confined to the vehicle. They had no information about the extent of the victim's injuries.
Once the wrecked pickup was hauled away, Met-Ed crews went to work to restore power and replace the damaged pole.
Mineral Spring Road, which is a primary artery into and out of Reading for commuters from the city's eastern suburbs, remained closed through the morning rush hour.
