Parts of Berks County turned into the wild west Thursday night.

ALBANY TWP., Pa. -

Parts of Berks County turned into the wild west Thursday night. Folks got a blast from the past during a mock train robbery at the Kempton Railroad.

Sheriffs from across the state just sat back and let the "robbers" do their work.

That's because the "stolen" money will be going to the Kyle Pagerly Memorial Fund and the Animal Rescue League.

Sheriff Deputy Pagerly was killed in a gunbattle last year in an area that's less than 10 miles away from the event.

Organizers were pleased about honoring Pagerly.

"We thought that would be very fitting as they are all sheriffs here this evening and associated with sheriffs departments and since Kyle was a deputy who lost his life, it would be a great fit," said Sheriff Eric Weaknecht.

The sheriffs were in town for the 90th Annual Sheriffs Association Convention.
